This multipurpose arena is located in Madrid, Spain, in the Casa de Campo exhibition grounds, just a few minutes from the centre of the capital. Designed by the architectural firm Cano Lasso together with Sara de la Mata Medrano and Myriam Abarca Corrales, it was inaugurated in 2002.
Its lightweight prestressed structure supported by twelve pairs of pillars was designed by Julio Martínez Calzón, and was conceived as a giant floating disc.
Thanks to its retractable stands, the capacity and configuration of the arena can be adapted, making it versatile for different uses, such as sports, shows or fairs.
